Early Childhood Education
for Children 6 Weeks to 6 Years
Where curiosity meets learning, and every child's potential flourishes in a nurturing environment.
At Redwood Academy, we believe that children learn best when they are engaged, curious, and supported.
Our holistic approach to early childhood education nurtures the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. We create an environment where children can explore, discover, and grow at their own pace, guided by experienced educators who understand the importance of play, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections.
Daily activities and hands-on experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
We support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth through play-based, child-directed learning experiences.
Small class sizes ensure each child receives personalized care and attention, allowing their unique strengths to shine.
Building strong relationships between children, families, and educators creates a supportive learning community.

We maintain low teacher-to-child ratios to ensure individualized attention:
These ratios comply with state requirements and allow our educators to provide quality care and learning experiences.
We provide daily outdoor play time when weather permits. Children go outside daily unless conditions are unsafe (extreme cold, lightning, etc.). We have covered outdoor areas and appropriate gear for various weather conditions.
For emergency weather situations, closures, delays, and early closures match Nashville Metro schools. We follow Metro Nashville Public Schools' decisions regarding weather-related closures to ensure consistency for families. Parents will be notified via our parent portal and email of any schedule changes.
Yes! We provide nutritious, organic meals and snacks prepared fresh daily in our on-site kitchen. We recognize dietary restrictions and allergies and allow parents to provide alternate snack options. Parents of infants provide formula/breastmilk, and we work with families on feeding schedules.
We use positive guidance and natural consequences. Our approach focuses on teaching children appropriate behavior through redirection, modeling, and age-appropriate explanations. We work closely with families to ensure consistency between home and school.
We use a secure parent portal app where you'll receive daily reports, photos, and updates. We also send monthly newsletters, hold parent-teacher conferences twice a year, and are always available for impromptu conversations at drop-off and pick-up.
You can apply for enrollment by filling out our online application form. We encourage families to apply early, as spots can become available unexpectedly. Our admissions team will review your application and contact you within 1 business day. There's no fee to apply.
